American Idol, April 21, 2024, ABC, “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame”
American Idol returns with its seventh season on ABC and 22nd season overall, showcasing the nation’s most talented singers as they compete for the coveted title.
In this special episode, “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” airing on Sunday April 21, the competition intensifies as the Top 14 contestants perform songs from legendary artists inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The episode also marks the announcement of the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, adding to the excitement of the night.
Gene Simmons, the legendary bassist of Kiss, joins American Idol as a guest mentor for this episode. Simmons, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 as a member of Kiss, will guide the contestants as they navigate the challenging theme.
The Top 14 contestants, including McKenna Faith Breinholt, Jack Blocker, Mia Matthews, and Triston Harper, will perform songs from a diverse range of inductees. The episode will feature music from iconic artists such as Cher, Mariah Carey, Ozzy Osbourne, and more.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees for 2024 will be announced live by host Ryan Seacrest and judge Lionel Richie, a 2022 inductee himself. This marks the first time that the inductees will be revealed on primetime TV.
The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees include a stellar lineup of artists who have shaped the music industry. Nominees include Dave Matthews Band, Peter Frampton, Eric B. & Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, Jane’s Addiction, Mary J. Blige, and many others.
