American Pickers: The DIY DeLorean (History, Wednesday October 30, 2024)

American Pickers

American Pickers continues its endless quest for rusty gold, this time with a distinctly Back to the Future twist. Mike explores a defunct Wisconsin railroad town.

The summary hints at a “kindred spirit” encounter, which likely translates to someone with a hoarding problem impressive enough to make even Mike raise an eyebrow. There’s also mention of a location “frozen in time,” a phrase that gets tossed around a lot in this genre, but hopefully, it means something genuinely interesting here. “New old stock” is a tantalizing prospect for any picker, and I’m curious to see what treasures Mike unearths.

Meanwhile, Robbie, ever striving to carve his own path in the picking world (and perhaps differentiate himself from his brother), takes on a project that sounds both ambitious and slightly questionable: a one-of-a-kind DeLorean knockoff. A “knockoff” DeLorean? This raises so many questions. Is it a kit car? A fiberglass monstrosity? Some sort of bizarre art project gone wrong? Whatever it is, Robbie is determined to get this automotive oddity back on the road, which, let’s be honest, is probably more of a challenge than it initially seems.
