It’s just another day at the office for the eccentric crew of “Animal Control,” where the only thing predictable is the unpredictable. This week, the workplace comedy returns with “Ducks and Penguins,” an episode that finds Emily facing a mounting pile of paperwork and a whole lot of animal-induced stress. Meanwhile, Frank and Shred are tasked with transporting a penguin named Oreo. Expect hijinks.
Across town, Victoria and Patel have their hands full with a four-legged fugitive. Their mission: to escort a wayward canine across the border into Canada. What could possibly go wrong? Everything, if history is any indication. This is, after all, the same team that once wrestled a rabid squirrel in a porta-potty.
“Animal Control” has carved a niche for itself with its goofy humor and surprisingly heartfelt moments. The show’s strength lies in its ensemble cast of oddballs, each more delightfully weird than the last. This week’s episode looks to be another winning combination of slapstick comedy and surprisingly touching animal encounters.
