Frank, everyone’s favorite eccentric Animal Control officer, is back at it, this time attempting a daring dog rescue. In “Goats, Snakes, and Dogs,” Frank takes matters into his own hands, deciding to break a canine out of animal control “jail” rather than let it face the grim fate of “the farm.” The episode airs Thursday, January 16, at 9:01 PM ET/PT on FOX.
While Frank’s rogue mission takes center stage, “Goats, Snakes, and Dogs” also offers some character-building moments for Shred and Patel. Victoria, ever the pragmatist, attempts to school Shred in the art of rule-bending – good luck with that, Victoria. Meanwhile, Patel has what’s being described as a “life-altering” encounter with a therapy goat. One can only imagine the existential questions a therapy goat might provoke.
Adding a touch of familial dysfunction to the mix, Thomas Lennon returns as Frank’s brother, Patrick. Their interactions usually involve a healthy dose of passive-aggression and questionable life choices, so expect more of the same here. All in all, “Goats, Snakes, and Dogs” looks like a typical episode of Animal Control: heartwarming animal antics, oddball characters, and enough workplace shenanigans to keep viewers mildly amused. It’s comfort TV with a touch of absurdity, and sometimes that’s all you need on a Thursday night.
