Animal Control “Rattlers and Gators” (FOX, Thursday, January 9, 2025)

In the untamed wilderness of Animal Control, where workplace dysfunction reigns supreme, Frank’s latest challenge involves dealing with the social dynamics surrounding Emily’s newfound friendship with a wealthy benefactor. “Rattlers and Gators,” the second episode of the third season, sees Emily consumed with anxiety over how her uncouth colleague might behave around her affluent new pal.

Naturally, her attempts to manage the situation go spectacularly awry. Emily’s efforts to keep Frank at arm’s length backfire, triggering his competitive spirit and a deep-seated need to charm the pants off anyone Emily deems important. Expect awkward encounters, ill-advised jokes, and potentially a very expensive broken vase or two.

Meanwhile, Patel’s ego undergoes a dramatic inflation after he’s invited to throw the first pitch at a minor league baseball game. Victoria, as always, provides the much-needed voice of reason (and withering sarcasm) as Patel’s preening reaches truly Olympic levels. It’s another Thursday night in the world of animal wrangling, and if the previous two seasons are any indication, viewers are in for a solid dose of character-driven comedy.
