Ever wonder if animals share our less-than-noble habits? National Geographic Wild’s “Animals, They’re Just Like Us!” explores the surprising parallels between animal behavior and human antics. This Friday, the series takes to the skies with a look at frigate birds, the avian pirates of the animal kingdom.
These feathered bandits have perfected the art of aerial robbery, swooping down to snatch meals right out of the beaks (or claws) of other birds. The episode examines their meal-stealing strategies, no doubt revealing a level of cunning that would make any human thief proud.
But “Pirate Birds” isn’t just about feathered felons. This second episode of the evening also takes us to a warthog spa (yes, really) and deciphers the complex communication codes of elephants. From the ridiculous to the remarkable, “Animals, They’re Just Like Us!” continues its globe-trotting exploration of animal behavior, finding echoes of our own foibles and triumphs in the wild.
“Animals, They’re Just Like Us!” airs Fridays at 10:00 PM on National Geographic Wild.
