Anne Rice’s “Mayfair Witches” Acquired by BBC Two

Mayfair Witches, a supernatural drama series adapted from Anne Rice’s best-selling novels, has been picked up by the BBC. Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, and Tongayi Chirisa are the stars of the eight-part series that is produced by AMC NETWORKS.
The plot centers on Rowan, a young neurosurgeon who comes to terms with her family’s history of witchcraft and the fact that she possesses extraordinary powers. Along with figuring out how to use her new abilities, she has to face the evil spirit that has haunted her family for years.
Mayfair Witches is the second series set in Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe, following the critically acclaimed Interview with the Vampire. The series was acquired by the BBC from AMC NETWORKS and is available on BBC Two and iPlayer. The show is described as a dark and atmospheric companion piece to Interview with the Vampire.
The executive producers of Mayfair Witches include showrunner Esta Spalding, Michelle Ashford, Mark Johnson, Director Michael Uppendahl, and Jeff Freilich. The series was directed by Uppendhal, Axelle Carolyn, Haifaa al-Mansour, and Alexis Ostrander.
