Antiques Road Trip returns with Hettie Jago and Tim Medhurst embarking on their third day of adventures. Hettie and Tim set off from Lewes in their distinctive white replica Jaguar, and this time, they find themselves in Henley-on-Thames, over 70 miles from their starting point.
While Tim is a seasoned dealer, familiar with these lanes, Hettie, an auctioneer and dealer, is exploring new territory, discovering the delights of this part of the country.
Along the way, Hettie’s love for animals shines through as she makes some interesting purchases, including a fairground carousel horse and an early 20th-century Chinese ink drawing depicting pigs. Tim, true to form, shows his eclectic taste with a granite mortar and a GPO clock that bears his name.
The journey also includes a detour to Slough, the birthplace of the iconic zebra crossing over 70 years ago, before concluding with an auction in Banbury. It remains to be seen who will emerge as the day’s winner.
