Auctioneer and dealer Hettie Jago and numismatist and dealer Tim Medhurst embark on their final day of antique hunting in a Jaguar replica roadster. The pair, who have been travelling the B roads of southern England, now find themselves in Devon, a region familiar to both, as Hettie was born in Somerset and Tim resides in Dorset.
For their last day, Hettie and Tim each have a budget of £200 as they begin their rummaging in the village of Hele. Hettie makes a substantial purchase, investing in a piece of jewellery she believes will be a winning bid at the final auction. Meanwhile, Tim acquires a unique treen box and a slice of a centuries-old building.
Before making their way to the final auction in Lichfield, Staffordshire, the duo takes a brief break at the Met Office in Exeter. As they conclude their journey, will their new-found friendship withstand the excitement and pressure of the sale room?
