In the Friday 13 September episode of Antiques Road Trip, ceramics expert Irita Marriott and jewellery specialist Ishy Khan go head-to-head as they conclude their journey in Hingham, Norfolk, the ancestral home of former US president Abraham Lincoln. With £200 each, they embark on a final quest for antiques and artefacts.
Irita Marriott, the ceramics queen, commences her day by exploring a 19th-century French mantel clock, a vintage ink standish, and a copper jug crafted in Wolverhampton. Meanwhile, jewellery king Ishy Khan invests in Chinese bellows, a vintage glass salt dish, and an early 20th-century inkwell.
The journey also includes a visit to Norwich Castle, where Ishy uncovers the story of Margaret Fountaine, a Victorian lepidopterist whose contributions have been largely unnoticed. Along with a guerrilla art movement, Irita aims to bring attention to Margaret’s significance through an unofficial blue plaque.
As they make their way to the final auction in Lichfield, they encounter brass hooks, barometers, and other intriguing items. Who will emerge victorious in this auction showdown?
