On CBS MORNINGS, co-host Nate Burleson sat down with star football wide receiver Antonio Brown for his first network news interview since he left the field in the middle of a game and was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown spoke out about new medical, legal and personal revelations and explained why he walked away from the team in the middle of a game earlier this month.

Excerpts from the interview include:

– On if he has ever been diagnosed with a mental health condition: “I never had a mental health diagnosis…I never had an issue or problem. I don’t take pills. I just got a high IQ.”

– On if he has a therapist in his life: “I tried it through the NFL, but I don’t really got time to consult with random people I don’t know about my mental space or how I look at things…Like, I’m from the pit. Most of the people we talk to, they’re from the palace. So how your lenses look at life is not how mine is.”

– On if he has any regrets for his public outbursts: “I feel like, man, everything I did, I did it ‘cause my heart believed that was what I needed to do. And in life, sometimes you’ve got to listen to your heart because that’s the only way I could go to sleep at night. So – but I believe in my heart, in my eyes, and how I look at things and things I did, I think they all promoted me to be in this position I’m in.”
