Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for Disclaimer, a psychological thriller starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, and Sacha Baron Cohen. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, the seven-part series will premiere on October 11, 2024, with two initial episodes, followed by weekly installments.
Based on Renée Knight’s novel, the story revolves around acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett), who uncovers others’ secrets until her own dark past is exposed through a mysterious novel sent by an unknown author.
As the novel reveals unsettling truths, Catherine’s personal life begins to unravel, threatening her relationships with her husband Robert (Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Catherine must confront her past to protect her family and discover the identity of the novel’s writer.
The star-studded ensemble cast also includes Kevin Kline, Lesley Manville, and Louis Partridge, with Indira Varma lending her voice as the narrator.
Produced by Apple Studios, Disclaimer is co-produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content. Alfonso Cuarón and Cate Blanchett serve as executive producers alongside Gabriela Rodriguez, David Levine, and the late Steve Golin. The series also features cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki and Bruno Delbonnel, with music by Grammy and Academy Award winner Finneas O’Connell.
