Apple TV+ Comedy “The Big Door Prize” Trailer Drop & Season 2 Premiere
Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for the second season of its critically acclaimed and character-driven comedy, “The Big Door Prize.” The series, created by Emmy Award-winning writer David West Read, is based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name.
The 10-episode second season will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, with three episodes. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly until June 12, 2024.
“The Big Door Prize” follows the residents of Deerfield, a small town that receives a mysterious machine. In the first season, the machine, known as the Morpho, offered cards containing individuals’ life potentials, leading people to question their life choices and pursue their true purpose.
In the second season, the Morpho machine will ready the town’s residents for the mysterious “next stage.” As everyone’s potentials are exchanged for visions, new relationships will form, and new questions will arise.
The season will focus on several relationships, including Dusty (Chris O’Dowd) and Cass (Gabrielle Dennis), who decide to take time apart, and Trina (Djouliet Amara) and Jacob (Sammy Fourlas), who learn to shed their old labels. Meanwhile, Giorgio (Josh Segarra) and Izzy (Crystal Fox) find romance, and Hana (Ally Maki) and Father Reuben (Damon Gupton) continue to investigate the machine’s purpose.
The series also features an ensemble cast, including Emmy Award winner O’Dowd, Dennis, Maki, Gupton, Segarra, Crystal Fox, Fourlas, and Amara. Season two welcomes new guest stars such as Justine Lupe, Aaron Roman Weiner, Mary Holland, and Patrick Kerr.
“The Big Door Prize” is produced by Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon. David West Read serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television.
