Apple TV+ presents a gripping limited series, “Lady in the Lake,” starring Oscar and Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman and Emmy nominee Moses Ingram. This seven-part drama, set to debut globally on July 19, 2024, with weekly episodes, promises a thriller with a mysterious twist.

The story unfolds in Baltimore, 1966, as the disappearance of a young girl on Thanksgiving sets the stage for a fatal collision of lives. Portman portrays Maddie Schwartz, a Jewish housewife seeking to leave her secret past behind and reinvent herself as an investigative journalist.

Meanwhile, Ingram plays Cleo Johnson, a mother navigating the political underbelly of Black Baltimore, striving to provide for her family.

At first glance, their lives appear parallel, but when Maddie becomes fixated on Cleo’s mysterious death, a chasm opens, endangering those around them. “Lady in the Lake,” created and directed by Alma Har’el, is more than a noir thriller. It’s an exploration of the price women pay for their dreams.
