Apple TV+ has released the trailer for its six-part documentary series, K-Pop Idols, a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of K-pop artists. The series will premiere globally on 30 August 2024.
The documentary offers an intimate portrayal of the demanding reality of K-pop stardom, featuring artists Jessi, CRAVITY, and BLACKSWAN. It takes viewers on a journey, highlighting Jessi’s first solo tour, CRAVITY’s experience of agency pressures, and BLACKSWAN’s internal struggles and line-up changes.
Examining the personal and professional challenges these artists face, the series presents insights into Jessi’s reflections on life and career, the competition within BLACKSWAN, and CRAVITY’s creative development. The series is a look at the highs and lows of the K-pop industry, from international performances and family connections to unexpected news and significant career decisions.
The series concludes with an exploration of the aspirations, realities, and determination driving these K-pop artists on the world stage.
K-Pop Idols is produced for Apple TV+ by Boat Rocker’s Matador Content, with executive producers, including Todd Lubin, Jack Turner, Elise Chung, Bradley Cramp, Chris Kasick, Eric Yujin Kim, Jay Peterson, and Sue Kim.
