Apple TV+ is heading deep into uncharted terrain with The Wild Ones, a six-part natural history event dropping globally on Friday, July 11.
Produced by Offspring Films—the team behind Earth At Night In Color and Earthsounds—the series follows wildlife experts Aldo Kane, Declan Burley, and Vianet Djenguet as they push the boundaries of field conservation. Armed with remote cameras, thermal drones, and AI-powered imaging tech, the crew ventures into six of the world’s most remote environments to locate, film, and help preserve critically endangered species.
Footage captured for The Wild Ones includes rare sequences of the elusive Malayan tiger inside Malaysia’s Royal Tiger Reserve—believed to be the first time this species has been filmed in the wild. Other high-impact moments include encounters with a wild silverback gorilla in Gabon and never-before-seen shots of Gobi bears in Mongolia and Javan rhinos in Indonesia.
The series covers field missions across Malaysia, Mongolia, Armenia, Indonesia, Canada, and Gabon, with the team often racing against poachers, wildfires, and habitat destruction. Conservation wins already credited to the show’s efforts include the identification of a new rhino and the protection of a newborn tiger cub litter.
The Wild Ones continues Apple’s push into high-end factual storytelling, joining a growing stable of prestige docuseries that blend cutting-edge production with environmental urgency.
