Australian Premiere of “The Sixth Commandment” This August with Timothy Spall & Anne Reid on BBC First and Binge

Four part true crime drama The Sixth Commandment will get an Australian premiere this 24 August on BBC First, Foxtel on Demand and Binge.
Starring Timonthy Spall, Anne Reid & Éanna Hardwicke ,the series, written by Sarah Phelps (A Very British Scandal, The Pale Horse) and directed by Saul Dibb (The Salisbury Poisonings), is inspired by the critically acclaimed and BAFTA nominated documentary Catching A Killer: A Diary From The Grave.
What is The Sixth Commandment about
In The Sixth Commandment, an intriguing tale unfolds between Peter Farquhar (Timothy Spall), an inspiring teacher, and his young student, Ben Field (Éanna Hardwicke). Their shared passion for books and involvement in the Church of England laid the foundation for a perplexing criminal case that has captivated many.
The story also explores the suspicions surrounding Ben’s relationship with Peter’s deeply religious neighbour, Ann Moore-Martin (Anne Reid). Ann becomes a target of Field’s manipulations, leading to a chain of astonishing revelations and a highly publicised trial. Throughout The Sixth Commandment, viewers witness the initial allure, insidious gaslighting, intense police investigation, and ultimately, the long-awaited justice for Peter’s untimely demise.
