The iconic cry of “Outwit, Outplay, Outlast” echoes once more as Australian Survivor: Brains vs. Brawn II prepares to ignite screens. Twenty-four fresh contenders are set to clash in Samoa, all vying for the coveted title of Sole Survivor and the life-altering $500,000 prize. Host Jonathan LaPaglia returns to preside over the strategic skirmishes and physical face-offs.
The Brains tribe features AJ, the poker pro whose charm is as potent as his strategic mind. He’s ready to bluff his way to the top, fully aware that deception is the name of the game. He freely admits he’s prepared to use flattery saying; “I’ll say things like, you did so good! I loved that blindside! That was so smart! Of course it wasn’t smart. But I’m going to tell them it was.”
Then there’s Ally, an A.I. expert from a small North Queensland town, who is more used to defending her profession than battling the elements. Loud, and very, very Australian, Ally is nicknamed “Trumpet Mouth”, and is not afraid to use it.
Indy, a business development manager with a secret stand-up comedy life, brings a psycho level of competitiveness to the beach.
Kaelan, a PHD student mapping vegetation in Antarctica, is a blend of brawn and brains. Karin, a doctor in orthopaedic surgery, is more focussed on breaking bones than on mending them.
Kent, a successful business mogul is looking for a new kind of victory. Witch, Laura is planning on making magic happen on the island.
Logan is out to prove she’s more than a WAG. Teacher, Max will be using his smarts to outwit his opponents. Myles is a Financial Assistant ready to bring analytics to the island, Rich is a film director looking to make a big play, and Zara, a very busy PTA president, is set to make her kids think that she is truly badass.
The Brawn tribe counters with its own set of forces. Ben, a stonemason and risk-taker, lives by the motto “just say yes.”
Candy, a model from Western Australia, is used to extreme conditions, albeit on photoshoots, not desert islands. Jesse, a pro skater with a mission to make skateboarding inclusive, plans to bring a playful, yet calculated, approach.
Kate, a DJ and dancer, intends to use a “girly girl” facade to lull her competitors into a false sense of security. Kristin, an aviation fire fighter, is no stranger to pressure, and is ready to use her kindness, but will be ruthless when required.
Olympian Morgan has her sights set on gold, both in the game and for her “wedding of the century.” Nash, a salesman with unshakeable confidence, claims he’ll be “very hard to read”.
Noonan, a learning support officer, wants to step out of her family’s shadow. Paulie, a paramedic, brings his life-saving skills to a very different kind of emergency.
PD, a soccer coach, is going to be using his coaching skills to get his tribe mates onside. Ursula, a powerlifting, fitness coach, is looking forward to the social part of the game, and Zen, a hip-hop artist and the youngest of the contestants, is ready to use his “influence” to get ahead.
The battle lines are drawn, the players are primed, and the game is about to begin.
Australian Survivor: Brains vs. Brawn II premieres Monday, February 17, at 7:30 pm on 10.
