Australian women kick start summer of cricket against India

Just over 18 months since Australia triumphed over India in the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final in front of more than 86,000 fans, the two teams will finally meet again in a blockbuster multi-format series on Australian soil, with every match live and ad-break free during play on FOX CRICKET, available on FOXTEL and Kayo.

Australia, the top ranked T20I, ODI and Test cricket side in the world, will host India for a series of three ODIs in Mackay, Queensland, starting September 21st, before moving to the Gold Coast for a Test Match on September 30th and three T20 Internationals.

Two-time ICC Women’s T20I World Cricketer of the Year Alyssa Healy and 2018 ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year Smriti Mandhana joined FOX CRICKET’s Mel Jones and Megan Barnard to launch the series today. The last time the two sides met was at the MCG for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final, which Australia won in front of a record crowd for women’s cricket of over 86,000 and in what became the last major sporting event before the Covid-19 pandemic shut down live sport around the world.

FOX CRICKET will cover every ball of the Australia vs India series, with coverage hosted by Megan Barnard and expert analysis from Mel Jones and Alex Blackwell, with every match available to watch live and on demand on FOXTEL or stream on Kayo.

The series kick starts a blockbuster summer of women’s cricket, with the 2021 Rebel WBBL season to get underway on October 14th and the Women’s Ashes starting January 27th.
