Jon Taffer, the no-nonsense bar consultant of Paramount Network’s “Bar Rescue,” is heading to East Alton, Illinois, this Sunday to try and revive a bar struggling with more than just bad drinks and poor management. In “The Airliner Is Grounded,” Taffer encounters a bar owner grappling with grief and family conflict after inheriting the establishment from her late husband.
The owner’s daughter is also part of the business, but it seems her efforts to help are actually making things worse. With the bar on the brink of collapse, Taffer must not only address the usual operational and financial issues but also help this family deal with their emotional baggage.
