The thrill of the hunt and the allure of a good bargain – “Bargain Hunt” returns to BBC One this Friday, taking us to the bustling antiques fair in Ardingly, West Sussex.
Presenter Charlie Ross begins the episode by examining an impressive collection of thousands of historic handkerchiefs belonging to Brenda Mathews. At the fair, the competing teams, guided by experts Nick Hall and Stephanie Connell, begin their search for hidden treasures. Cafe owner Caroline and board game designer Andy hope to unearth some military memorabilia, while fitness enthusiasts Jenny and Matt aim to demonstrate their deal-making prowess. Among the items under consideration are a boxed microscope for the blues, and a rather incomplete chest of drawers (missing its handles) favored by the reds.
The episode culminates in an auction in Buckinghamshire, presided over by auctioneer Hugo Lemon. Will the teams find hidden gems that turn a profit, or will their bargain hunting dreams go bust? Find out on Friday, 2 May at 12:15 PM GMT on BBC One.
