Monday, June 30, at 12:15 PM, BBC One‘s Bargain Hunt takes its antique scouting expedition to a large center near Bradford. While two teams dig for hidden treasures, host Natasha Raskin Sharp takes a trip to Beverley Minster, climbing high to watch stonemasons at work. These artisans are replacing medieval pinnacles on the Minster, a clear link to the very antiques the show celebrates.
Auctioneer Caroline Hawley does her part to bridge past and present, selling off the old pinnacles to help fund the new. Down on the ground, the competition heats up. Brothers John and Mick, the blue team, work under the guidance of expert David Harper, with high hopes tied to Chinese and Japanese vases. Their red team rivals, Graham and Rob, put their trust in a mid-century radio. Expert Roo Irvine, however, seems unconvinced by the radio’s potential.
This outing for Bargain Hunt pits eastern promise against mid-century design. The question, as always, is who will turn a profit at auction and avoid the dreaded loss.
