Presenter Roo Irvine takes to the seas in this episode of Bargain Hunt, exploring the SS Nomadic in Belfast. Built over a century ago, the SS Nomadic served as a tender ship for the White Star Line, ferrying passengers to their ocean-going liners. With a rich history, the ship also spent time in Cherbourg and played a role during World War II as a troop carrier.
The show then moves to County Antrim, where a bustling antiques fair sets the stage for the red and blue teams. Caroline Hawley leads the red team, consisting of married couple Raymond and Linda, while Thomas Forrester captains husband and wife duo David and Ruth on the blue team. Unique items catch the eyes of team members, with Raymond drawn to a fox figurine and Ruth contemplating a copper jelly mould.
As the teams make their selections, they head to the auction in Belfast, where auctioneer Jonathan Esdale shares his insights on their chosen lots. The episode builds to the exciting reveal of which team, the reds or the blues, will emerge victorious in this antique adventure.
