In this upcoming Monday 20 May episode of Bargain Hunt, presenter Charlie Ross ventures into the Peak District and underground to seek out Blue John, one of the world’s rarest semi-precious minerals. He also discovers how this rare mineral is crafted into exquisite jewelry and ornamental pieces.
The episode, titled “Elsecar 18,” takes viewers to an antiques center in Elsecar, South Yorkshire, where the red and blue teams, led by their respective experts, aim to uncover valuable finds. Izzie Balmer guides the red team, siblings Katie and Nathan, who come across a signed cricket bat but are uncertain about its price. On the other hand, the blues, married couple Gill and Dave, are accompanied by David Harper. They consider purchasing an old hoe, but they’re unsure about its profitability.
As the teams make their selections, auctioneer Sean Devitt oversees the bidding action in Derby. With the teams’ choices made and the auction underway, the episode builds towards the climactic reveal of which team will emerge victorious.
