Chalk horses, competitive spirits, and a musical miscalculation take center stage in this week’s Bargain Hunt. Airing Friday at 12:15 PM on BBC One, the episode heads to an antiques fair in Exeter, where two teams face off in a race to find hidden treasures and outbid each other at auction.
Expert Eric Knowles adds a touch of local history to the proceedings with a visit to Wiltshire’s Hackpen White Horse, one of the region’s iconic carved chalk figures. While Knowles explores the story behind these giant landscape artworks, the red and blue teams are busy scouring the Exeter fair for undervalued gems.
The red team, made up of civil servants George and Alex, enter the fray with what is described as a ‘giant’ ambition to top the leader board, but can their purchases match their enthusiasm? Meanwhile, the blue team—married couple Kate and Neil—discover a music stand that hits a sour note when they are hit by sticker shock.
With experts Izzie Balmer and Serhat Ahmet on hand to offer guidance, the teams embark on their separate hunts, armed with £300 and one hour to make their mark. Auctioneer Gareth Wasp presides over the saleroom, where the teams hope to turn their finds into profit—or at least avoid a major financial loss.
Bargain Hunt airs on Friday, June 13 at 12:15PM on BBC One.
