In this episode of Bargain Hunt, presenter Natasha Raskin Sharp meets Helen Day, an avid collector of iconic Ladybird children’s books, including the early Ladybird books and the Key Words Reading Scheme series featuring Peter and Jane. Helen discusses the impact and legacy of these iconic books, once a staple in British schools.
The episode takes place in Heanor, Derbyshire, and features two teams of bargain hunters: grandmother-granddaughter duo Linda and Lauretta, and married couple Nicky and Harnek. With their unique strategies and mottos, they set out to find the best deals within the 60-minute time limit.
Lauretta is drawn to a cabinet of collectible coins, but their expert, Danny Sebastian, questions their profitability due to their niche appeal. Meanwhile, the blue team’s expert, Kate Bliss, selects an old garden tool for growing runner beans, a choice that leaves the team uncertain about potential profits.
As the teams continue their search, auctioneer Richard Winterton provides his insights and expertise in Staffordshire. However, the bidders will have the final say on the items they choose to take to auction.
