Join Natasha Raskin Sharp at the National Tramway Museum, where she uncovers the historic role of trams in mail delivery. Passengers could post letters for just a penny, placing them in boxes next to the driver for parcel boys to collect and deliver.
In this episode, filmed in the town of Heanor, we see two teams putting their antique-hunting skills to the test. The red team, led by captain Danny Sebastian and comprising married couple Tom and Karen, are on the prowl for cat-themed items. Meanwhile, the blues are captained by Kate Bliss, with friends Saira and Angela seeking scent bottles and small silver pieces.
The red team considers an antique butter churn, but Tom expresses doubt, thinking its better days are behind it. The blues, on the other hand, encounter unexpected challenges during their shopping expedition.
Both teams then head to Lichfield for a warm welcome from auctioneer Richard Winterton, who will determine the fate of their purchases.
