Stephen proudly presents just a small fraction of his extensive collection, including jewel-encrusted cufflinks once owned by entertainer Ernie Wise. He also shares the fascinating history of cufflinks, revealing that shirts were fastened with ribbon or string until King Charles II popularised wearing jewellery on wrists.
Meanwhile, at the Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet, two teams are on a bargain-hunting mission. The red team comprises teachers Deborah and Julie, guided by Caroline Hawley, who are seeking unique macabre items. On the other hand, the blue team, friends Sandy and Julie, led by Thomas Forrester, are in search of elegant Danish jewellery.
With a room full of bidders, the competition is fierce as they work through a variety of lots, each hoping to secure the best deals. Who will demonstrate the sharper eye for hidden treasures? Which team’s strategy will prove more successful at Tim Weeks’ auction in nearby Wiltshire?
