The BBC has decided not to renew the comedy series ‘Henpocalypse!’ for a second season. In a statement, the BBC expressed their pride in the show but noted that difficult decisions had to be made to accommodate new comedy shows.
Henpocalypse!, written by Caroline Moran, took a wild and humorous journey through the misadventures of five women on a chaotic hen weekend. The series featured Elizabeth Berrington, Lucie Shorthouse, Callie Cooke, Lauren O’Rourke, and guest appearances by Danny Dyer.
The story centers on Zara, a bride-to-be whose hen party is interrupted by the unexpected end of the world. Zara and her four friends from the West Midlands find themselves stranded in an isolated Welsh cottage, only to emerge and discover that the male population has almost entirely disappeared. The UK has transformed into a harsh wasteland, testing their survival skills.
The series is currently available for viewing on BBC iPlayer.
