BBC Children in Need “Race Across Yorkshire” Special Fri 17 November on BBC One

BBC Children in Need Race Across Yorkshire Special Fri 17 November on BBC One

On Friday November 17, 2023, BBC Children in Need will air a sketch parody called “Race Across Yorkshire.” The parody is based on the hit series “Race Across The World.” Three pairs of well-known TV characters will compete to be the first to make it across the rolling dales and dramatic moors of Yorkshire, the UK’s biggest county. The teams include Ian and Cindy Beale from EastEnders, Dorien and Tracey from Birds of a Feather, and Noel and Samia from Waterloo Road.

The teams have a limited budget and are not allowed to use mobile phones or credit cards. They only have a map of Yorkshire, a GPS tracker, and their wits. The final checkpoint is the town of Pudsey, which is also the name of BBC Children in Need’s mascot and iconic yellow bear.

During their journey, the teams encounter famous Yorkshire faces such as Kim Tate, Marlon Dingle, Cain Dingle, Gareth Gates, Jane McDonald, and Paul Chuckle.

The teams must work to earn extra cash along the way using traditional Yorkshire graft. The parody will reveal who crumbles under the pressure, who loses it big-time, and who ultimately wins at the Pudsey finish line.
