BBC Drama Series “Time” Premieres in Liverpool with Star-Studded Event

A premiere event for the second series of BBC drama series “Time” is set to take place in Liverpool. The show, created by acclaimed writer Jimmy McGovern, will be screened exclusively in the city, with McGovern and key cast members in attendance.
“Time” is a three-part series that delves into the lives of three inmates in a women’s prison. The characters, played by Bella Ramsey, Jodie Whittaker, and Tamara Lawrance, find themselves navigating the challenges of their new environment together.
The red carpet event, scheduled for October 17, will offer a preview of the first episode of “Time” before its official broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with the cast and creatives.
The event is part of the BBC’s commitment to showcasing productions from different regions of the UK. “Time” is set and produced in the Liverpool City Region, exemplifying the BBC’s goal of directing a significant portion of its commissioning spend outside of London.
The celebration of this locally-produced drama will take place at St George’s Hall in Liverpool and is open to audiences in and around Merseyside. Free tickets can be obtained through the BBC Shows and Tours website.
“Time” is a collaboration between Jimmy McGovern and Helen Black, with direction by Andrea Harkin. The show promises exceptional talent and compelling storytelling. The post-screening Q&A will be hosted by BBC Radio Merseyside presenter Ngunan Adamu.
The first series of “Time” was a major success, attracting an average of 11.6 million viewers and winning the BAFTA Television award for best mini-series in 2022. The second series, produced by BBC Studios in co-production with BritBox North America, was filmed in and around Liverpool with support from the Liverpool Film Office. BBC Studios will handle global distribution of the series.
