Production on Season 2 of Dinosaur has officially started in Glasgow, with Ashley Storrie back in the lead role for the BBC and Hulu co-production.
The returning cast includes Kat Ronney, David Carlyle, Lorn Macdonald, and Danny Ashok. Hyoie O’Grady joins the series as a new character set to challenge Nina’s world in unexpected ways. His arrival marks the biggest shift to the ensemble since the show’s debut.
Created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, Dinosaur centres on Nina, a Scottish woman in her 30s who is autistic and unfiltered. The first season earned critical acclaim and won multiple awards, including at the RTS Scotland Awards and the Scottish BAFTAs. It is currently nominated for Best Comedy Programme at the 2025 Broadcast Digital Awards and Comedy Series: English Language at the Banff Rockie Awards.
The six-episode run is again produced by Two Brothers Pictures for Hulu and the BBC, with Sarah Hammond, Harry Williams, Jack Williams, and Katie Churchill serving as executive producers. Niamh McKeown returns to direct, and Brian Coffey produces. The commissioning editors for the BBC are Emma Lawson and Gavin Smith.
Dinosaur will air in the UK on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Hulu will handle US distribution. International rights are managed by All3Media International.
