The BBC has revealed the teams for the second season of “Celebrity Race Across the World,” a series that sends celebrities on a challenging adventure, this time across South America.
The celebrities, leaving their luxurious lives behind, will navigate 12,500km from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil to the Andes in Chile, relying only on their skills and the kindness of strangers.
The cast includes TV presenter Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, Heart Radio DJ Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy, BBC Radio 2 DJ and Eurovision host Scott Mills and his husband Sam, and “Ted Lasso” star Kola Bokkini and his cousin Mary Ellen.
The journey begins in Belém, Northern Brazil, the gateway to the Amazon, and will span five checkpoints across the continent before reaching the finish line in Frutillar, Southern Chile. Tim Harcourt, chief creative officer of Studio Lambert, shares his excitement, stating: “After the phenomenally successful run of the first celebrity series, we can’t wait to bring audiences along with us to the huge South American continent and its jaw-dropping scenery.”
The first episode of “Celebrity Race Across the World” airs on August 14 at 9 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The series will then air weekly.
