The BBC Proms presents a unique classical music experience with “Beethoven for Three: Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax and Leonidas Kavakos.” Airing on BBC Four on Sunday, 1 September 2024, at 8:00 pm, this concert brings together three superstar soloists, each a master of their instrument, for an intimate and extraordinary performance.
Cellist Yo-Yo Ma, violinist Leonidas Kavakos, and pianist Emanuel Ax form a classical supergroup, blurring the lines between symphonic and chamber music. They present a special arrangement of Beethoven’s Sixth ‘Pastoral’ Symphony, adapted intimately for their trio, and perform the ‘Archduke’ Piano Trio.
