Disco at the Proms brings the glamour and energy of the disco era to the Royal Albert Hall for a special concert celebrating the genre’s heyday. With performances from singers Vula Malinga, Elisabeth Troy, Vanessa Haynes, and Cedric Neal, the evening should be a dazzling trip down memory lane.
The concert, airing as part of the BBC Proms 2024 season on BBC Four, will feature classic disco anthems from legendary artists such as Chic, Sylvester, Gloria Gaynor, and Donna Summer. The BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, will accompany the singers, bringing fresh pizzazz to the original arrangements.
Andi Oliver will present the show and the evening will be a celebration of the disco era’s impact on music and popular culture, with sequins, glitter balls, and, most importantly, unforgettable songs.
