BBC Proms presents a special episode, Unmissable Moments at the Proms, presenting highlights of this year’s spectacular festival. Airing on BBC Four on Friday the 13th of September 2024 at 8:25 pm, the episode celebrates the diverse range of performances that graced the prestigious Royal Albert Hall stage during the eight-week festival.
There are plenty of memorable moments to choose from too, including Sam Smith’s anticipated Proms debut and the magnificent performance of Mancini’s Moon River. There is also Sir Mark Elder’s poignant farewell, conducting Mahler’s Fifth Symphony.
The episode explores further standout performances, such as the talented Kanneh-Mason family’s rendition of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song and their interpretation of Holst’s The Planets.
The episode also features cellist Yo-Yo Ma, clarinetist Anthony McGill, and pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason.
