The competition intensifies as BBC Young Musician enters the quarter-final stage, featuring the exceptional talent of the remaining musicians. This episode is presented by saxophonist and broadcaster Jess Gillam, a former finalist herself.
Filmed at Swansea University’s Great Hall, the first six musicians take the stage to perform in front of an audience and an esteemed panel of judges. With the bar set high, the judges, including world-renowned trumpet player Alison Balsom, pianist Alexis Ffrench, and multi-instrumentalist and DJ Hannah Catherine Jones, have a challenging task ahead as they select one winner to advance directly to the next round. The episode builds anticipation for the judges’ wild card picks, which will be revealed in the following week’s episode.
Audiences will be treated to mesmerizing performances from the next generation of classical stars, each vying for a spot in the semi-finals.
