During his previous visit, Ben discovered Janey—a backpacker who had encountered street dogs in desperate need of medical attention. Inspired by their plight, Janey made the courageous decision to quit her job in the UK and establish a charity housed within an old converted school building. Ben lent his support by assisting with the care of 25 dogs recovering from various operations and joining Janey on rescue missions as well as an outreach project aimed at managing the dog population. Together, they witnessed firsthand how this dedicated team faced challenges while working in a country still recovering from its own hardships but remained unwavering in their commitment to help.

Now, five years later, Ben returns to find Janey’s centre even more impressive than before thanks to exciting upgrades that have taken place since his initial visit. He learns about the difficulties Janey has encountered since their last meeting and hears her compelling story of perseverance during the pandemic when she found herself alone in her efforts.
