With ten incredibly gifted miniaturists from Canada and around the world returning for another season of BEST IN MINIATURE (8×60), we can look forward to unprecedented originality and inventiveness. On Tuesday, December 26, at 9am ET, Season 3 will premiere on CBC Gem. From Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 29, at 8pm (9:30 NT) and 9pm (9:30 NT), CBC TV will air daily back-to-back episodes.

In this season, ten miniature artists will let their imaginations run wild as they race against the clock to create miniature masterpieces in 1/12 scale. Every episode will feature the judges’ decision on who gets to keep their hopes and dreams alive and who doesn’t, all in the pursuit of a prestigious residency and $10,000. The miniaturists are in it for the long haul, so they might as well not sweat the small stuff if they want to win big.

Judges include renowned Canadian interior designer and entrepreneur Michael Lambie, UK miniature expert Emma Waddell, and actor and stand-up comic Aba Amuquandoh, who returns for another season as host.

Get to know the contestants competing for the title of Best in Miniature in Season 3, which includes five Canadians:

Shelley Acker owns Freedom Miniatures, a one-stop shop for all things miniature and hobby related, and hails from Kentville, Nova Scotia. She has been involved in the miniature hobby for nearly 25 years. In the 2022 documentary feature Bernie Langille Wants to Know what Happened to Bernie Langille, Shelley showcased her miniatures skills as one of two Art Directors. The film won multiple awards.
