Better Date Than Never on ABC

In the latest episode of Better Date Than Never, which airs on ABC TV on Tuesday 5 March 2024 at 8.30pm and can also be streamed on ABC iview, viewers will join Jack and his date as they navigate through moments of awkwardness and transform their anxiety into a playful game.

Meanwhile, Allycia embarks on her own romantic fairy tale, inspired by the experiences of her best friend Olivia. And for fans of the show, beloved participant Charles makes a return as he continues his search for love.

Charles is a 28-year-old student from China who came to Sydney in pursuit of more than just an education. With a passion for nature, gaming, and cooking, Charles proudly identifies as gay and is currently researching how algae can potentially combat climate change.

Since his first ever date in Series 1, Charles has completed his master’s degree, started a PhD program, participated in the World Pride event by marching across Sydney Harbour Bridge, and even acquired a new hotpot. Despite these accomplishments, finding love has remained elusive for him.

However, he is now considering new approaches to dating. As someone who finds one-on-one dates intimidating, the prospect of several dates in one location at a speed dating event has him reaching for his cologne and donning his best collared shirt.

Jack’s first date with Phoebe is marked by shared nerves and butterflies in their stomachs. Recognizing that small talk can often feel difficult and awkward in such situations, they come up with an ingenious way to alleviate their anxiety: they turn it into a game where neither person aims to come out as the ultimate winner.

Allycia hails from Brisbane and exudes high energy and enthusiasm at 28 years old. She faces unique challenges due to her condition known as Chromosome 18 –a deletion of the 18th Chromosome which affects how her brain functions compared to others’.

Nevertheless, Allycia remains a true-life enthusiast and is determined to find her own romantic fairy tale. She draws inspiration from her best friend Olivia, a participant from Series 1, who visits and shares stories of her own journey towards finding true love.

Allycia dreams of experiencing that same level of romance and connection, perhaps even with someone like Chris Hemsworth!

Kento, despite his first date ending in a mere offer of friendship, remains undeterred and open to giving it another try.

Tune in to ABC TV on Tuesday 5 March 2024 at 8.30pm to follow the journeys of these individuals as they navigate the complexities of dating and search for love. And for those who prefer streaming, all episodes are available on ABC iview.
