The Olivier Awards, celebrating the best in London theatre, have found their hosts for 2025: Beverley Knight and Billy Porter. The ceremony will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday, April 6th.
Here’s the Lowdown: Knight, an Olivier Award winner herself (for Sylvia), and Porter, a Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award winner currently starring in Cabaret in the West End, will co-host the event. Highlights will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX.
What This Means Now: The announcement adds further star power to an already prestigious event. Both Knight and Porter have extensive experience in both theatre and television.
The Bigger Picture: This year marks the 40th Olivier Awards since Laurence Olivier gave his name to the ceremony. Mastercard returns as the headline sponsor for the 15th year. The creative team includes Anthony Van Laast (choreographer), Gareth Valentine (conductor and arranger), Mark Cumberland (orchestrator), and Ben Cracknell (lighting designer). Public tickets are available exclusively to Mastercard cardholders via priceless.com.
