BBC One’s “The Bidding Room,” hosted by the ever-suave Nigel Havers, returns this Friday with a new collection of quirky treasures. From vintage wedding gowns to repurposed lighting, this week’s episode has a little something for everyone. Among the items up for grabs is a 1940s wedding dress, rescued from a charity shop by seller Eleanor. Will the dress find a new owner and a new chapter in its history?
Other intriguing lots include a silver dressing table set unearthed from a loft, a limited-edition 1970s Italian radio brought in by Behzad (who’s hoping to raise money for charity), and an 18th-century woodturner’s lathe creatively transformed into a lamp. Peta, meanwhile, tries her luck with a 1930s knife polisher, a bargain find she snagged for a mere 75p.
Today’s dealers – Ian, Melissa, Sam, Jo, and James – are ready to haggle, and with expert Simon Bower on hand to offer his insights, the bidding is sure to be lively. Will fortunes be made or will sellers go home disappointed? Find out on “The Bidding Room” this Friday, April 18th at 3:45 PM on BBC One. This is Season 6 Episode 18.
