Prepare for a “Big Bang Theory” reunion with a seriously unsettling twist. Mayim Bialik is set to guest star on NBC’s “Night Court,” but not as the affable neuroscientist we’ve come to know. Instead, she’ll be portraying a twisted version of herself – a stalker fixated on none other than Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch).
The irony, of course, is that Abby is a huge fan of Bialik’s earlier work, particularly “Blossom.” Oblivious to the lurking danger, Abby remains unaware that her sitcom idol has developed a rather unhealthy obsession. This setup provides ample comedic fodder, playing on the inherent awkwardness and potential creepiness of celebrity encounters.
This episode marks a reunion for Rauch and Bialik, who shared the screen for nine seasons on “The Big Bang Theory.” Bialik has teased the episode’s humor, hinting at a self-aware, “meta” storyline that had her in stitches during rehearsals.
“Night Court” will return January 14 on NBC.
