CBS is dialing up the drama for Season 27 of Big Brother, setting a July 10 premiere for what’s being billed as the most content-heavy run in the franchise’s 25-year history—and adding a new Friday night show to extend its summer footprint.
The long-running reality staple kicks off with a 90-minute opener on Thursday, July 10 at 8 PM ET/PT, followed by another extended episode on Sunday, July 13. From there, the series settles into a high-volume rollout: 90-minute episodes every Wednesday, and standard 60-minute hours on Thursdays (live evictions) and Sundays.
CBS is also launching Big Brother: Unlocked, a new companion series airing every other Friday at 8 PM ET/PT starting July 25. The spinoff will serve up a mix of unaired footage, cast interviews, surprise cameos, and former Houseguests breaking down the week’s action—essentially building out the Big Brother content pipeline without having to stretch the main show’s format.
Julie Chen Moonves returns as host, continuing her run as the franchise’s anchor since its U.S. launch in 2000.
For Paramount Global, the move signals a deeper push to extend its linear-reality ecosystem across platforms. Pluto TV will carry the Big Brother Live Feeds, while Paramount+ subscribers can tap into live viewing via local CBS feeds (with the SHOWTIME tier) or catch up on-demand via Essential.
The aggressive scheduling gives CBS a summer tentpole with year-round brand value, and keeps the Big Brother machine humming across broadcast, streaming, and FAST. With more hours than ever on deck, it’s a volume play aimed squarely at superfans.
