Bigfoot Took Her: Discovery Channel Sets October 29 Premiere for New True-Crime Investigation

Bigfoot Took Her Key Art

Discovery Channel will revisit one of America’s strangest cold cases with Bigfoot Took Her, a three-part documentary series set to premiere on Wednesday, October 29. The series re-examines the 1987 disappearance of 16-year-old Theresa Bier from California’s Sierra National Forest, a case where local lore pointed to an unlikely suspect: Bigfoot.

The investigation is led by Jessica Chobot and retired 29-year LAPD veteran Robert Collier. Their mission is to sift through the folklore and rumor that has surrounded the case for decades in order to uncover a factual explanation for Bier’s vanishing. The series will follow the pair as they dig into the official files to pursue new leads.

Chobot and Collier’s work brings them to witnesses who have never spoken publicly and recently uncovered police reports. Their investigation points to several earthly possibilities, including connections to drug trafficking, unspoken family conflicts, and a potential link to the notorious “Speed Freak Killers” who were active in the region. The series documents their efforts to retrace Bier’s last known movements and examine new evidence that could finally identify a human culprit.

Discovery Channel will air all three episodes of the limited series back-to-back, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT on October 29.
