Billboard Music Awards 2024 (FOX, Thursday, December 12, 2024)

TV News Just In

So, another year, another Billboard Music Awards. Are we genuinely thrilled? Mildly curious? Somewhere in between? It’s hard to say. Awards shows, especially music awards shows, have become a peculiar blend of self-congratulation, awkward banter, and the occasional genuinely good performance. But hey, the Billboard Music Awards have a history of delivering at least a few memorable moments, so let’s see what they’ve got cooked up for us this year.

The 2024 BBMAs, as the cool kids call them, are landing back on FOX on Thursday, December 12, at 8:00 PM ET/PT. They’re aiming to deliver, a night of big names, bigger egos, and hopefully, some decent music. The usual suspects will be vying for those shiny trophies: top artists, top albums, top songs – you get the drill. They’ll also be honoring producers and songwriters, those behind-the-scenes folks who rarely get their moment in the spotlight.

This year’s show is taking a slightly different approach, with performances emanating from various global locations, including sold-out tour venues. This could be an attempt to inject some real-world energy into the often sterile atmosphere of awards shows, or simply a logistical nightmare waiting to happen. Either way, it’s a choice.

FOX assures us that, amidst the award presentations and acceptance speeches, we’ll also be treated to “exclusive artist interviews.”

Tune in to FOX on Thursday, December 12 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
