Billy The Kid Aus Premiere Monday 25 April on Stan
In Billy The Kid, Tom Blyth stars alongside Daniel Webber as American outlaw William H. Bonney.
The first look at the upcoming drama series Billy The Kid was released today by Stan. Billy the Kid stars Tom Blyth (The Gilded Age) and Australian actor Daniel Webber (Escape from Pretoria, Marvel’s The Punisher) and is written and executive produced by Michael Hirst (Vikings).
From Monday, April 25th, the series will be offered exclusively on Stan.
The eight-episode season is based on the life of Billy the Kid, also known as William H. Bonney, and follows him from his poor Irish background through his early days as a cowboy and gunslinger on the American frontier, as well as his key part in the Lincoln County War and beyond.
Jesse Evans (Webber), another well-known bandit and commander of the Seven Rivers Gang, will also be introduced to the audience. Jesse has already accepted a life of crime when they meet, stealing businesses and rustling cattle. Billy is drawn to his wild and reckless personality, and he transforms into a doppelganger – his shadow self — who constantly invites him to the dark side of life.
Other cast include Eileen O’Higgins (Irregulars, Brooklyn) as Kathleen, Jonah Collier (My Name is Lizzie) as young Billy and Joey Batey (The Witcher, Nightfall) as Patrick McCarty.
The series is produced by EPIX Studios, and MGM International Productions, in association with NENT’s Viaplay and internationally distributed by MGM. Executive producing alongside Michael Hirst are Donald De Line for De Line Pictures, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey for Amblin Television and Otto Bathurst, and Toby Leslie for One Big Picture. Bathurst (Halo) directed the first two episodes.
Billy the Kid premieres 25 April, same day as the U.S. and only on Stan.
