This week’s Blue Bloods, “Without Fear or Favor,” finds the Reagans embroiled in their usual mix of interpersonal drama and law enforcement intrigue. Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is teaming up with a British investigator, which I assume means there will be some obligatory cultural clashes and dry witticisms.
They’re pursuing an international fugitive, so expect some car chases and possibly a tense standoff in a dimly lit warehouse. Let’s hope Danny’s “dubious tactics” don’t cause an international incident.
Meanwhile, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) is feeling the heat from her boss, D.A. Crawford, to indict a police officer. This presents a classic Blue Bloods dilemma: upholding the law versus protecting one’s own. I’m guessing there will be some strained conversations around the family dinner table.
Jamie (Will Estes) is investigating a shady sports gambling website, which seems like a relatively low-stakes case for him. Unless, of course, the website is somehow connected to the international fugitive or the indicted officer. This wouldn’t be Blue Bloods without some contrived interconnectedness.
And finally, Frank (Tom Selleck) is butting heads with the mayor. Their conflict involves a retired cop being released from jail, so I’m anticipating some righteous indignation and possibly a thinly veiled threat from Frank about the importance of respecting the “thin blue line.”
Blue Bloods: Without Fear or Favor airs Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:00 pm on CBS.
