The Bold and the Beautiful Monday December 2, Recap

The Bold and the Beautiful Key Art

Well, somebody finally got bold on The Bold and the Beautiful. In a move surprising exactly no one, Ridge fired Carter and effectively banished him from the hallowed halls of Forrester Creations. This, of course, follows Carter’s ill-fated attempt to usurp power, aided and abetted by Hope Logan, the current apple of his eye and thorn in Ridge’s side.

The confrontation was classic B&B: lots of yelling, accusations of manipulation, and dramatic pronouncements. Ridge, ever the paragon of self-righteousness, demanded Carter destroy the LLC documents and, more importantly, sever ties with Hope. Carter, surprisingly (or not, depending on how much you buy into this storyline), refused. He professed his undying love for Hope and stood by his actions, arguing that he genuinely believes he can run Forrester better than, well, the Forresters. Ridge’s response? To fire Carter with the kind of theatrical flourish usually reserved for opera. Not only was Carter out of a job, but also banished from Ridge’s life. Ouch.

Elsewhere, Hope, in her infinite naivete, defended her relationship with Carter to Brooke. Apparently, she’s convinced he was just trying to help the “underdogs” at Forrester, because corporate espionage is totally altruistic. Brooke, ever the voice of reason (sometimes), warned Hope that her little power play had likely torched her relationship with Ridge and Steffy, making a return to Forrester about as likely as a snowfall in Los Angeles. Let’s not forget, Brooke also dropped the bombshell that Ridge has already lawyered up, presumably to undo whatever legal shenanigans Carter had cooked up. The walls are closing in, folks.

While Carter dreams of a future where he’s the king of fashion, Ridge reminded everyone that he’s built an empire. He even invoked his storied romantic past with both Katie and Brooke Logan, basically pulling the “I built this company with blood, sweat, and a whole lot of romantic drama” card. Honestly, you can’t argue with that logic. It remains to be seen how Carter and Hope will recover from this spectacular fall from grace, or if they even can. Let’s be real; they’ll probably find a way to blame it all on Liam.
