The good folks at Forrester Creations are having themselves a week. Wednesday’s episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful” served up enough corporate intrigue and romantic entanglements to fuel a dozen lesser soap operas. Let’s unpack the wreckage, shall we?
First off, Ridge, in a fit of righteous indignation, gave Carter his walking papers. Seems the news of Carter’s involvement with Hope’s power play didn’t sit well with the Forrester patriarch. Cue the fireworks. Steffy, never one to shy away from a confrontation, promptly laid into Hope, accusing her of manipulating Carter and orchestrating his professional demise. Steffy’s decree? Hope is persona non grata at Forrester, banished forevermore (or at least until the next sweeps week).
Meanwhile, over at Il Giardino, the drama continued, albeit with a slightly more nostalgic flavor. Electra and Will, enjoying a leisurely lunch, received a surprise visit from a blast from the past: Remy, now apparently a waiter at the trendy eatery. Remy, in a confession to Sheila that would make even the most hardened soap veteran blush, revealed his not-so-hidden agenda: He’s back in Los Angeles to reconnect with Electra, the woman he’s apparently been “in awe of” for years.
Of course, no soap opera is complete without its supporting cast of hand-wringers and busybodies. Brooke attempted to smooth things over between Ridge and Hope, though she conceded that the whole takeover scheme was a bit much. Hope, predictably, felt like everyone was ganging up on her, playing the victim card with the practiced ease of a seasoned pro. And Katie couldn’t resist grilling Will about his interest in Electra before their lunch date.
All in all, a classic “Bold and the Beautiful” outing. Intrigue, betrayal, and a touch of romantic yearning – what more could a soap fan ask for?
“The Bold and the Beautiful” airs weekdays at 1:30 PM on CBS.
